# The email you send to your future self

Kulwant shared a status about setting up a future email. One guy asked me whether I have sent a message that will deliver in 2020. Here's what I think:

Suppose we want to climb a mountain, we plan about it. As we cover some distance, we need to change the plan as per the situation. We can't predict the future conditions based on a current situation - Reference Bhagavad-Gita.

I never set my targets or aims in terms of money. Want to share one incident: One guy asked one of my best friends - Really, does Rajesh earn a good amount of money? I doubt it. My friend replied him pretty nicely: I know Rajesh since long, I don't know if he earns well or not because he never shares his income. One thing is for sure, whenever I see him, he's happy. I think that he is enjoying his life, what else does anyone want?

Personal experience (Why I don't set a target in terms of money):

After resigning from TCS, I started working on a niche site. My niche site was ranking in the top 3 positions all over the world. I started earning a very good amount of money. I planned many things based on that income. Sometimes, destiny has a different plan for you. One guy did negative SEO and my site lost all the rankings. Even after 1.5 years, we're still struggling to rank our (now I don't work alone) sites for those keywords.

TL;DR

We need to change our plan time to time. Instead of thinking too much about the future and wasting time about planning the things, try to live in a present. Try to enjoy every moment of your life. Give your 100% every day. Last but not the least, never set your targets/aims in terms of money. Sreejesh Suresh advised me same when I started blogging professionally.
