About

Namase is my surname. This is my corner of the internet.

I'm Rajesh Namase. Tech journalist, entrepreneur, Pune. I've been publishing on the internet since 2010, and this domain is where all of it started, long before any company or any job. It took me 16 years to come back and write here.

Rajesh Namase

The short version

In 2010 I was a BE Information Technology student at TKIET Warananagar, and I registered namase.com for one reason: it was my surname and nobody had taken it. It became a tips and tricks site. Computer tricks, Linux commands, Windows hacks, whatever I was learning that week.

That site grew up and became TechLila, which I still run. After graduation I joined TCS. Everyone calls it a dream job, and within two months I knew it was not for me, so I left to write full time. Trust me, it looked like a bad decision to everyone, including me.

Since then I've co-founded a couple of companies, spent thousands of hours in the gym, and written a lot on the internet. Most of it lived on Facebook for years. This journal is me bringing it home.

The longer version

The domain came before the business

Every company I've been part of came after namase.com, not before it. I registered it as a student with no plan, only a habit of writing down what I was learning. That order still matters to me. The writing came first, the readers came from the writing, and the businesses came from the readers.

Why this site sat empty for years

For most of the last decade this address pointed at TechLila. I set up a redirect once and stopped thinking about it. Meanwhile I kept writing, just on Facebook, where a post gets 250 reactions in a week and disappears in a month. I had to choose between an audience I could see and an address I could keep. I picked wrong for a long time.

What I write about

Four things. Life: the long view, family, mortality, and what any of it was for. Craft: websites, search, the tools, and what broke this week. Money: earning it, spending it, and what things really cost. And Time, the one I come back to most. Everyone gets the same 24 hours, right? Nobody can invoice you for more.

How this gets written

Slowly, in public, with no content calendar. I publish when something is finished, so there are gaps. The archive goes back to 2014 and I am still recovering it post by post from a decade of writing that lived on someone else's platform. If you need an argument for owning the address you publish at, that is it. Most of my day now runs through AI as well. Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini and Spark do the heavy lifting. The opinions, the mistakes and the stories are mine.

TechLila, which started life as this domain.

Training

Gym in the morning, badminton whenever I can get a court, 90 minutes each.

Learning

It never stops. The day I stop is the day I start going backwards.

Dated on purpose. If this is stale, that is a fact about me worth knowing.
