Google Authorship is not what it was
Since December 2013 a verified authorship no longer guarantees your photo in results. Three classes exist now, and after 15 profiles I still cannot see the logic.
“How to Get Google Verified Authorship for Your Blog” is an old story. From December 2013 Google changed it, even if you’ve followed all steps mentioned in their official page: http://techli.la/1p1dcms your photo or name will not be visible in SERP.
Now there are three classes of Google Authorship.
A) First Class: Your photo and name will be visible for your site URLs
B) Second Class: Your Name (Byline) will be there in SERP but no photo
C) Third Class: No authorship at all.
First and third case is common but second case is new for some people. I tried almost all ways to check what factors affect to show your picture with your name in SERP but unable to find it. Analyzed more than 15 profiles and URL still I’m not getting Google’s logic.
Joost’s photo is also not there in SERP for WordPress SEO keyword, he has more than 45K followers and site authority is very high.
Also for some keywords Google will show your photo with your name and for some keywords it show only name (no photo).
