Always listen to your inner voice

Three times a quiet voice told me to leave what was safe: quitting TCS, starting a business with a friend, and renting an office for 50. It was right each time.

Our inner voice always tries to suggest things that will help us become a much better person (in every aspect) than what we are right now.

  • When I was in TCS or prior to joining it, I was not ready for it. My inner voice was saying that TCS was not for me but situations were such that I had to join it. My inner voice was still continuously pushing me to do the things that I love most instead of working 9-6 in TCS. I listened to it and resigned my TCS job within two months itself.

My family, relatives, and friends were seriously shocked by this decision. They were suggesting to continue the job because it was a dream job for many people and still it is. Some friends called me an idiot and some convinced me to change the decision. But I listened to my inner voice.

  • After 7-8 months, my inner voice started pushing me that whatever I was doing was not enough. I felt as if I should try something new, I should push my limits. This was the time when I started a new business with Tushar. One of the wisest decisions I have ever taken.

  • Again at the end of 2015, Pramod asked me to become a business partner and I started a third business (Prudour) with him. In September 2016, our team size was 8. At that time, we booked an office space on rent for 50 people because our inner voice was suggesting us not to stop here! At that time, one of my relatives even asked why are we taking such a huge risk? But, we ignored other opinions and followed the inner voice. Now, one year down the line we are a team of 60 members.

I have shared all these examples not to show you that my decisions are always correct. Here, my point is that you should always listen to your inner voice. Are you giving enough time to yourself to listen to it or are you so busy living someone else’s life, please ask yourself? Are you working towards fulfilling YOUR OWN dreams?
