The friend who never looks unhappy
My childhood friend Navanath has never once looked unhappy. What he told me when I finally asked how, and why friends like him are the reason anything worked.
Navanath My childhood friend. I’ve never seen him unhappy or restless but always as a smiling and kind person. I have many good memories with him, we’ve enjoyed many of our childhood moments together.
He got married early and situations were such that you can’t expect anyone happy (unless he’s practicing yoga or meditation) so I was curious how can he be happy and always smiling. Out of curiosity, I asked and in reply, he shared a story. I am sharing the same (shorter version) here:
- King Akbar asked Birbal
“Write something on this wall, which if read in good times, makes you sad and if read in your bad time, makes you happy.”
Birbal’s answer was, “This time will pass away soon”.
He said whenever he is facing any problem he thinks about this story and he faces problems very easily.
This incident was the life lesson for me. Life will teach you many lessons, so be a good learner and try to learn.
PS: Navanath has sent me the following message and I was speechless. He said, “he’s feeling proud that he has spent some time of his childhood together” :O
In my experience, I am lucky that I have friends like Navanath, without their constant support, unconditional love and endless encouragement it was not possible to achieve anything in life _/_
