A day will come when each of us will die

Death is certain and its date is not. The thought experiment I put to friends a year ago, and the question it leaves: what would you do with 360 days?

You will surely agree that a day will come when each one of us will die. Maybe today or tomorrow or after one year or ten years or fifty years, time will vary for everyone but, alas, we will die for sure. There is no assurance as to when it will happen. We are mortal in nature and the death is inevitable. Just consider, I am saying just assume for one moment that you are not alive right now. You’re dead and you are looking back at your life. What are the things you think that you should have done when you were alive? Just think about this and prepare a list of things priority wise. Take a proper time to prepare this list. The list will contain the most important things that you will regret if you don’t do before dying.

“If you don’t know exactly where to reach, you will never reach there.”

Now that you have a high priority list, you can concentrate on achieving all these things. As you don’t know when will you die, you should try to tick as many things you can as ‘complete’ from the list. Prepare a plan i.e. a clear roadmap to achieve the things. Trust me, if you focus your mind and physical energy into this direction then very soon you will achieve all the things from your list. After a few months or years, you need to revise the list and make a new plan.

Each one of us has desires, our very own list of dreams and longings. Creation may have its own blueprint for us, but our personal desires cannot be easily wished away. They may be extravagant or mundane, ambitious or trivial, they may be inconvenient, but they are ours. They are real, they are precious, they are urgent and deeply significant.

Once you understand that time is ticking away and you have very limited time in your hand then you will not waste your valuable time. No one needs to push you to do the things. You will be self-motivated once this comes in your experience - “time is more valuable than money”. Some day you will understand that time is your most valuable asset and I hope that it should not be your last day.

Everyone has 24 hours a day, the choice is yours, invest your time wisely!

All the best

PS: It’s been almost 360 days when I elaborated this with few of my friends. I hope they must have achieved what they wanted to achieve, in these 360 days and pardon me for not sharing this status last year.
