The white shirt I wore to every viva

• When I was in my third and last year of engineering, I used to wear one particular white shirt for vivas/practical examinations. I was of the opinion that this shirt is lucky for me and if I wear it, I would get good marks. Call it a coincidence or the result of my hard work, I got good marks in those viva/practical examinations. In the last year of engineering, my roommate got to know about this shirt and he asked me to lend him that shirt. He topped that viva - 47 marks out of 50. While looking back and thinking a lot about this, I feel I was an idiot.

It’s our hard work that can lead us towards success. Nowadays, every shirt, T-shirt is lucky because “I” wear it. Wearing different shirts/t-shirts does not make any difference. You should always believe in yourself instead of believing on such things. Other things might affect in some proportion, but we should not focus on the things which are out of our control.

• When deciding our company’s name, one of my business partners wanted to take an advice from a numerologist. But, when I got to know about all the procedure, I understood that the whole procedure would take around 20 days. On that night, I woke up in the middle of my sleep and wrote some points. Does it make any difference whether we take advice from a numerologist? Or is it the hard work, proper planning and willingness that helps us to proceed? What makes the difference? After discussing with my business partners, we decided not to waste 20 days and start work right away.

In your life, do not give too much importance to such things which will not lead you towards your target. Be positive and give your 100%. Faith, luck etc are not in your hands; they can maybe affect in some proportion, but what you can do is give your 100%. So, just do it! Do not give too much importance to things that you cannot do anything about.
